Set next to Whitby's famous Gothic Abbey, this historic building offers coast views and extensive gardens with outdoor seating and a picnic area. The hostel sits on Whitby's headland; the cobbled quayside lies at the bottom of the nearby steps, and the centre and rail station are a 15-minute walk away. Whitby's sandy beaches can be reached in a short 5-minute walk from the hostel.
The majority of rooms contain bunk beds, with options including private en-suite rooms, family rooms, and dormitories. The hostel has a lift to all floors, facilities for disabled guests with an emergency cord in bathroom, lower bathroom sink, toilet with grab rails, and wheelchair access. Key card access, lockers, and luggage storage are provided for guest security and convenience.
Meals are served all day in the cafe & bar from breakfast to lunch and evening menus, with outdoor seating overlooking the town.
